A netball season is full of ups and downs, and it's important we get a few things in order before the first whistle is blown.
What is it you love about Netball? There might be one thing, or there might be one hundred things but getting this on paper at the start of the season acts as a great reference point through the season, particularly when the going gets tough :)
What is our collective motivation? It's not just about "winning the competition" Our collective motivations might look a little deeper.
Is it to represent someone meaningful to the team and what they stood for? Are there certain characteristics from your region, club or town that everyone can align to? Can you develop a theme that carries meaning for everyone for the season ahead?
It's important that each player can attach personal meaning to this collective motivation.
Where and how will we improve as a team?
Making sure that you set about not necessarily 'winning the game' but winning the areas within the game you want to win. Once you know what these areas are, you need to measure them :)
What is the one action this team will take every week to make this season one to remember?
Is it to take a team pic at every training and game? Is it to spend 10 mins working on extra skills with your teammates each week?
How might we grow together?
Understanding what your teammate's strengths are, allows you to develop better on-court chemistry, making both your games easier :) It's as simple as a question. Hey 'x' what makes you feel comfortable on the court? What skills or actions give you the most confidence?
Don't feel comfortable talking with your teammate directly? Maybe your coach can give you a tip on the strengths of your teammates :)
Could you benefit from setting some more positive processes around your game? Netty Notes guides you throughout the season to build confidence and improve note by note. Making this season your best yet.
Let's do this!
